go-toml-edit is a comment-preserving TOML parser and editor for Go. Most TOML libraries parse into Go values (structs, maps) and discard everything that is not data: comments, whitespace, quoting style, key ordering, blank lines. go-toml-edit takes a different approach. It parses into a lossless AST that retains every byte of the original source, then provides editing operations that surgically modify only the nodes you touch. The result is that unmodified parts of the file come back byte-for-byte identical.

go-toml-edit is a Go library for parsing, editing, and serializing TOML documents while preserving comments, whitespace, and formatting. It provides a lossless AST that keeps every byte of the original document intact, only re-rendering nodes that you explicitly modify.
